Police have charged an 18-year old labourer of Mirabeau, St. Andrew’s for defilement of a female.  Matthew Collymore is accused of committing the sexual act on a 13-year student of Content, St. David’s sometime between December 26 and 27.

Last week Wednesday, the Community Relations Department (CRD) of the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) had issued a press release seeking the assistance of the General Public in locating the missing teenager. The release said the teenaged student who at the time was wearing a dark blue jeans, pink top and pink sandals left home on Christmas Eve (December 24, 2010) and was last seen in Grenville, St. Andrew’s.

However, one day following the missing person’s report, the CRD reported that the five feet, six inches tall dark-skin young lady “has been found alive,” in Grenville, St. Andrew’s. The report said she was taken into police custody where investigations were being carried out.

THE NEW TODAY understands that as a result of the investigation, a charge of defilement was brought against Collymore.
