Prime Minister Tillman Thomas has again scoffed at a report done by Miami-based Grenadian journalist, Hamlet Mark. In a piece written in his Caribupdate News Service, under the headline banner, “GRENADA PRIME MINISTER LEAVES OUT SENIOR MEMBERS FROM CAUCUS”, Mark said that PM Thomas last weekend held a meeting which excluded the majority of his Cabinet members and the executive Congress.

A top official of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) government is being investigated in connection with an alleged fraudulent act. According to a well-placed source, the matter is currently in the hands of Cabinet Secretary, Gemma Bain-Thomas following a complaint from a local commercial bank.

There is a level of uncertainty over the future of the three-year old Government of Prime Minister Tillman Thomas. There are reports that Minister of The Environment, Foreign Trade and Export Development, Joseph Gilbert could be fired by Prime Minister Thomas over a letter he wrote giving commitment to a foreign company on a casino licence to operate at the New St. George's Port.

A Mt. Craven, St. Patrick’s man has been ordered to pay compensation in the sum of $2,500.00 to his neighbour. Norman Phillip who pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted murder was ordered Monday to pay the compensation to his old-time friend, Augustine Charles by High Court Judge Justice Lyle St. Paul at a sitting at High Court Number Two.

Two men including an American Citizen are nursing injuries following a vehicular smash-up on the Point Salines main road last Saturday. The accident which occured just after 7:00 p.m. took place close to the Special Services Unit (SSU), a few yards away from where DJ Caution lost his life three years ago in another vehicular accident.

Five police officers who are charged with manslaughter are now out on bail after spending two weeks at the Richmond Hill prison.Police Constables 649 Edward Gibson, 675 Shaun Ganness, 237 Ruddy Felix, 748 Kenton Hazzard, and Rural Constable Wendell Sylvester managed to meet the stiff bail requirements that were handed down on them on January 6 by Magistrate of the Eastern District, Nevlyn John.

Trade unionist, James “Jim” Wardally has died in Sweden.Wardally’s death was announced in St. George’s on Monday by the Technical & Allied Workers Union (TAWU) which he served as its 4th President from March 1981 to March 1984.

High Court Judge Justice Clare Henry has imposed a 12-year prison sentence on young entrepreneur Tisagh Chase for murder. Justice Henry disregarded a submission that was put forward by defense counsel Ruggles Ferguson last month for his client to be given a non-custodial sentence for causing the unlawful death of Kevin Hillaire of Mardi Gras, St. Paul’s sometime between June 12 and 13, 2008.
