A resident of Tempe, St George is offering a moderate reward to anyone knowing about a robbery that took place at his home.
Cleo Peters visited the office of THE NEW TODAY on Monday to seek the public’s assistance in getting to the culprit responsible for breaking into his home and taking away his personal possessions valued at thousands of dollars.
Peters told our NEWS DESK that he resides in London as well as Sweden whenever he is out of Grenada.
He said that he left the island on May 30, and deposited the keys to his property with a gentleman and returned home on September 11 to discover that his house was broken into.
According to Peters, the man claimed that the key was stolen from him and that when he realised the house was broken into, he tried to secure as many items as possible.
He said the individual told him that he left the premises one Sunday morning and returned to the house later that day and had to enter through a window.
Peters who is a member of the Mama Lodge’s fame along the Lagoon spoke of the key holder informing him that on entering the house, he discovered that the television set and Sony Sound System were missing.
The matter was reported to the police who visited the property.
Peters also told THE NEW TODAY that his house was allegedly broken into again one week later and this time an electronic fan and gas cylinder were removed.
A distraught Peters said he is not happy with what appears to be the slow pace of the police investigation into the breaking of his home and removal of items and is turning to the public for assistance.
The home owner is offering a financial reward to anyone with information that can lead to the arrest and prosecution of the culprits.
Peters said that he worked hard to purchase the items that were stolen and that he was in the process of furnishing his home in anticipation of the arrival of his children for a visit.
While not willing to disclose the reward being offered, Peters said that it can exceed the value of the items.
He is asking persons with information to contact him directly or the nearest police station.
