Police are investigating the delivery of four parcels containing illegal drugs that were meant for inmates at the Richmond Hill Prison.

According to well-placed sources, the items included dried marijuana, as well as a packet of Bamboo cigarette paper, and two wrapped parcels with two cigarette lighters.

A source close to the prison authorities told THE NEW TODAY Newspaper that some one associated with the Melville Street Fish House allegedly gave the parcel to a prison officer to deliver to two inmates at the prison.

The source said the illegal substances were discovered, and the matter was reported to the Criminal Investigation Department in St. George’s.

Drug delivery is not new to the prison.

Earlier this year, a man was shot dead in the vicinity of the prison compound while he was on his way to drop off cellphones and other related accessories to an inmate there.
