In recent days, there was an important pronouncement from the current Leader of the Opposition, Dr. Keith Mitchell on the need for government to establish a protocol on travelling by ministers.
A warning has gone out to Minister of Tourism, Peter David, to return to his office as an Attorney-at-Law and move out of the way in the Town of St. George Constituency. Opposition New National Party (NNP), Team-leader for the Town of St George, Nicholas Steele, said that while the senior Minister in the Tillman Thomas-led administration speaks well and smiles well, it is not enough to manage the country's affairs.
Opposition Leader Dr Keith Mitchell has openly criticised the actions of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government for allowing the memorial service for late Broadcaster, Anthony “Jericho” Greenidge to take place at the National Stadium at Queen’s Park.

Grand Anse resident Brendan Briggs has entered a guilty plea of manslaughter for causing the death of the former leader of “The Bloods.” Keldon Kelly Simeon, alias “9-inch” died on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010 as a result of a single stab wound to the right side of his chest from a knife used by Briggs at the Sugar Mill round-a-bout.
Police are looking for a Mont Toute man for questioning in connection with a near fatal stabbing incident at Grand Anse over the weekend in which two persons were left nursing injuries. Well-placed sources told THE NEW TODAY that the suspect is believed to have fled the area and gone into hiding in order to avoid the lawmen.
