Police have arrested and charged a 33-year old waiter from St. Paul’s, St. George’s with three counts of stealing, two counts of uttering a false document, and two counts of forgery.

Shondell Dubisette was picked up by police for several alleged acts of misdemeanour, which reportedly began in 2009.

Well-placed sources told THE NEW TODAY newspaper that the total amount of money involved in the misdemeanour amounted to $31,441.30.

Dubisette is accused of stealing $19,870.00 in cash from Richard Lee, a 64-year old retired Chief Executive who resides at Lance Aux Epines, St. George’s.

The State is contending that on August 31, 2009 the accused man stole cash amounting to $5, 823.9, on September 3, 2010, a further $8,387.11, and on July 1 another $5,660.25.

The St. Paul’s waiter is accused of trying to defraud Lee with two cheques.

The first incident allegedly took place on September 15, 2009 when he attempted to defraud the 64-year old with a cheque in the sum of $1,200, and on July 4, 2011 with another cheque written for $1,620.

Dubisette is also accused of uttering two forged documents on November 28, 2010, and January 28.

It is alleged that last year he deposited into his personal account an RBTT cheque from Lee in the sum of $5,490 and earlier this year also deposited a Scotiabank cheque from Lee in the sum of $3,260.75 into his account.

Dubisette appeared at the St. George’s Number One Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday unrepresented.

He told Chief Magistrate Tamara Gill he is trying to obtain the services of an attorney for the cases.

He was placed on bail in the sum of $50,000 with two sureties.

Magistrate Gill ordered that he surrender his travel documents and to report to the St. Paul’s Community Centre every Monday and Friday.

Dubisette is due back in court on January 20, 2012.
