Political activist, Allan Campbell, who is aligned to the main opposition New National Party (NNP) has been slapped with two counts of Indecent Assault by police on the island.

Campbell who owns and operates Alternative Communications Network (ACN) was detained at his home at Gladstone Road, Grenville, St. Andrew last week Wednesday after the mother of two teenagers involved in the alleged incidents made a report to the Police.

Reports reaching The New Today indicate that the two alleged victims are Campbell’s stepchildren ages 14 and 16. According to a well-placed source, the police decided to move against the suspect after receiving statements that the political activist had inappropriately touched the two young ladies on parts of the bodies that are considered “to be private”.

He said the police were also looking at pressing charges against Campbell in connection with an alleged improper contact with a three-year old boy. He said that a charge is not likely on this allegation since the youngster is considered to be too young to put on a witness stand in local courts. Campbell has been placed on $5,000.00 bail on each count.

The suspect is said to have denied all of the allegations during interrogation by officers attached to the Grenville Police Station. Campbell is the host of a radio Talk Show  “Issues Live” which deals with political matters. The programme is aired on CRFM 89.5, Sisterisles Radio 92.9FM and CitysoundFM 97.5.

Campbell will make his court appearance in February of 2012 at the Grenville Magistrate’s Court. The controversial political activist of the NNP recently returned to the island from the United States where he received treatment for an undisclosed illness.
