Man charged with attack on RJ's Pharmacy

Police have charged Construction worker Trevor Lashington of Grand Roy, St. John's in connection with last month's attempted armed robbery on RJ's Pharmacy on St. John's Street, St. George's.

According to an informed source, Lashington has been charged with the offense of robbery with violence. The 27-year old allegedly launched his attack on the pharmacy as it was about to close for business on November 11.

The intruder who was armed with a gun, disguised himself with a makeshift mask and a "rasta hat" launched his attack on a female cashier by demanding cash. Proprietor of RJ's Pharmacy, Rupert John was alerted to the commotion at the front section of the building came to the rescue of his employee.

As he approached the counter, John was reportedly accosted by the intruder who placed the gun to his head, and then asked him by name to pass the money over to him. An alert John tried to lead the gunman to his vehicle that was parked in front of the pharmacy, but the gun man retreated and fled from the building without receiving any money.
