Another Grenadian has done it again. This time it is Anthony Edwards who has successfully completed the exam that earned him the Professional Designation CRCMP – Certified Risk and Compliance Management Professional.

Edwards is now a member of high standing with the renowned and professional body called the International Association of Risk and Compliance Professionals (IARCP), located in Washington DC, USA.

According to a statement issued by the IARCP, Edwards is the only person from Grenada who has successfully completed the exam and is the only one from Grenada who has earned the CRCMP Designation thus far.

In his pursuit of this achievement, Edwards stated that the process was very challenging as he waded through the copious supply material.

He indicated that his knowledge has expanded to capture many new concepts and issues in the areas of risk and compliance especially that of credit risk when applied to International financial institutions.

Some of the major study areas were Basel II Framework on Solvency and Capital Adequacy, Basel III on Supervisory Compliance and Financial Stability, COSO Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework, the Design and Implementation of a Risk and Compliance Program, Compliance and the Work of the Chief Compliance Officer, and Stress Testing including the performance of Scenario and Sensitivity testing methods.

Edwards described the course as being designed to provide the knowledge and skills needed to understand and support regulatory and compliance and enterprise wide risk management, and to promote best practice and international standards that align with business and regulatory requirements.

When asked of the prospects for the application of his skills and expertise, Edwards remarked that ideal situations would be a position in the Risk and Compliance Department of a financial institution or a position with a Regulatory and/or Supervisory Authority.
