DURBAN, South Africa - Grenada is to benefit from a multi-million dollar Chinese project aimed at adapting to climate change. Under an AOSIS- China Climate Change Adaptation Pilot Programme (CAAP), Grenada will receive more than two million US dollars in technology assistance in the first tranche, over a five-year period.

A new business has opened its doors in the far south of the island offering for the first time Halal meat. Known as Ali’s Meat and Fresh Vegetable Market and Convenient Store, the business, which is located along the Maurice Bishop Highway, was officially opened during a brief ceremony held last week Friday.

The fishing community of Gouyave, St. John’s can look forward to having the services of a fuel station at its newly opened fish market in the New Year. Word of this has come from Agriculture and Fisheries Minister, Dennis Lett who was at the time delivering the feature address at the official handing over ceremony of the $34 million dollar Japanese-funded fish market project.

EDITORIAL

A recent sitting of Parliament has brought to the fore for public discussion the failure of the system to provide answers to questions that are asked by Parliamentarians. THE NEW TODAY finds it appalling that almost three years after submitting a list of questions to the Senate that Senator Keith Clouden, the farmer’s representative in Parliament,  is still to get answers from the Leader of Government Business to these questions.
