St. George’s, September 12, 2011 – Several Grenadians are beginning work this week on a major infrastructural project in the country. It’s the start of construction on the Greater Grenville Development Project. The contractor for the project is Quinn Limited, a Grenadian company.

Spice Stakeholders to attend Study Tour in India, through the Grenada Nutmeg Sector Development Strategy Project

St. George’s, Monday 5th September, 2011: Six Grenadians will spend a week in India studying the operations of the nutmeg sector there. The study tour has been organized by the International Trade Centre, (ITC) as part of its support for the Grenada Nutmeg Sector Development Strategy.

Prime Minister Hon. Tillman Thomas and members of his Cabinet will host an important town-hall meeting at the Grenada Trade Center on Thursday 8th September 2011 from 8.00pm-10.00pm.

At that meeting Prime Minister Thomas will outline the Government’s work programme for the next two years, with emphasis on employment creation and economic stimulation.

Members of Cabinet will also be provided with the opportunity to answer questions from the audience following the Prime Minister’s address. The meeting will be aired ‘live’ on all radio and television stations, on Thursday evening from 8.00.

St. George’s, Grenada, Wednesday August 10, 2011 – MOEPRU - Government’s stated commitment to the country’s educational advancement will again be highlighted, when over 100 scholarship beneficiaries receive awards to begin advanced studies on Friday.

The Human Resource Development Division, of the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development, will hold its Annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony at the GBSS Auditorium, on Friday 12th August, 2011 from 1pm.

Awards will be given to students beginning studies at universities in Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, Serbia, Morocco, Venezuela, China, Cuba and the St. George’s University (SGU).

The students will begin studies at both undergraduate and master’s levels in varied areas including food engineering, tourism management, technical education and medicine.

A major shakeup has taken place at the St. David’s Police Station at Petite Esperance. This was announced by Commissioner of Police, Willan Thompson at a press conference held at Police Headquarters on Fort George last week Thursday.
