St. George’s, December 1, 2011 (GIS) – The banking industry and other members of the local private sector are being urged to provide more financial support in the development of tourism in Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

PRIME MINISTER TOURS GRENVILLE AND SURROUNDING AREAS AFTER HEAVY RAINS
ST.GEORGE’S, GRENADA, 1 DECEMBER 2011_Prime Minister Hon. Tillman Thomas on Wednesday, empathized with the business community and residents of Grenville and surrounding areas, during a visit to areas affected by flooding following heavy rains on Tuesday.

Officials of the state-owned National Water and Sewerage Authority (NAWASA) are disputing claims that they have been unjustly disconnecting persons who are on the government-assisted water programme.

St. George’s, September 12, 2011 – Several Grenadians are beginning work this week on a major infrastructural project in the country. It’s the start of construction on the Greater Grenville Development Project. The contractor for the project is Quinn Limited, a Grenadian company.

Spice Stakeholders to attend Study Tour in India, through the Grenada Nutmeg Sector Development Strategy Project
St. George’s, Monday 5th September, 2011: Six Grenadians will spend a week in India studying the operations of the nutmeg sector there. The study tour has been organized by the International Trade Centre, (ITC) as part of its support for the Grenada Nutmeg Sector Development Strategy.
Prime Minister Hon. Tillman Thomas and members of his Cabinet will host an important town-hall meeting at the Grenada Trade Center on Thursday 8th September 2011 from 8.00pm-10.00pm.
At that meeting Prime Minister Thomas will outline the Government’s work programme for the next two years, with emphasis on employment creation and economic stimulation.
Members of Cabinet will also be provided with the opportunity to answer questions from the audience following the Prime Minister’s address. The meeting will be aired ‘live’ on all radio and television stations, on Thursday evening from 8.00.
