Nadia Johnson, a cook from Cherry Hill, St. George’s appeared before the Carriacou Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday on a charge of harbouring an escaped prisoner and was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison at Richmond Hill, St. George’s.
Johnson was arrested by police officers attached to the Petite Martinique Police Station for the offense of harbouring her boyfriend, Anderson Deno Clement of Petite Martinique.
The 21-year Johnson who was transferred to the mainland by the Osprey Shuttle on Tuesday is scheduled to appear at the Gouyave Magistrate’s Court in St. John’s on September 5.
At the time of his escape from lawful custody on August 10, Clement, 23, was serving a two and a half-year prison sentence for two counts of house breaking and stealing from a dwelling house.
The Petite Martinique resident was convicted for the offense in May. Clement was discovered at a Guest House in Petite Martinique together with Johnson on Sunday by the lawmen. Just last month, a similar charge of harbouring a criminal was slapped on 20-year old Mindy Francis, a hairdresser from River Sallee, St. Patrick’s.
Francis who is on $20,000.00 bail is accused of harbouring Seon Grant who was wanted by the police for the offense of robbery with violence that occurred on June 29. She is scheduled to appear at the St. George’s Number Two Magistrate’s Court on August 29 to answer a charge of harbouring.
The 24-year old Grant was captured in the early hours of July 23 in Radix, Mt. Parnassus by a team of police officers who were acting on a tip-off.
