Man shot over money dispute

A River Road, St. George’s man is nursing a wound from a gun shot after a dispute with another man allegedly over money. THE NEW TODAY understands that Sheldon Nelson, a 28-year old security officer, received the injury to his left leg early Sunday morning after being engaged in a dispute with another man from Belmont, St. George’s.

Police have since charged Therron Alexander, a 25-year old maintenance worker for the offences of wounding, possession of a firearm, and possession of ammunition. Alexander was placed on $50,000.00 bail with two sureties while he was held in custody at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in St. George’s.

The accused man was also ordered to surrender all travel documents, and to report to Central Police Station on the Carenage every Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
