Today the Prime Minister commenced a process towards deciding on the status of Hon. Joseph Gilbert as a member of the Cabinet.
He also met with and informed his Cabinet of the situation. As a result of consideration at the level of Cabinet it was agreed that clarification should be obtained regarding one aspect of the issue.
The Prime Minister is satisfied that it was appropriate for him to hear the views of the members of Cabinet and that it was very important, out of an abundance of caution, to obtain the additional information before confirming his course of action.
Accordingly, the Prime Minister anticipates that he would come to a decision on this matter very shortly whereupon he will duly inform his Cabinet and the general public.
